Earsa has
been the teacher of Rinaryns for so long that no one really quite knows
when he first appeared in Rinara, and Earsa won't tell. It is believed
that he is an Ancient, but no one knows, because Earsa won't tell. He doesn't
give information out easily unless you are his student, and then you have
to pay for it. Not with money, of course. Earsa 'plays' with his students-
he practices on them. If a student backtalks to him, that poor kid will
more often than not find himself kissing a tree soon after. Earsa has mastered
controlling the energy that exists in the no-man's land between realms,
and can bring that energy into a realm of his choice in the form of a big
blue ball, or maybe like lightning. He will punish his students by throwing
this ball of energy at them. The energy ball he uses doesn't hurt them-
it's the tree they crash into or the thorns they land in. There is another
type of energy ball that Earsa doesn't use on his students, and this will
melt thru substances, much like Hydrochloric acid, but much faster.
His teaching
area is a large grassy clearing surrounded, of course, by the forest. It
is only maybe 10 minutes walk from Torque. He is almost never seen outside
the clearing, and if you look for him, he will most probably be in his
clearing. Sometimes he will come to the story telling around the fire in
the middle of the village. Some say he comes to make sure the stories are
told correctly. Even the most powerful man in the village, the Storyteller
of Torque, listens to Earsa when he offers advice, and will go to him and
ask him for advice when he doesn't know what to do. Some say that Earsa
is actually the most powerful man in the village, and rivals the power
of the king. What is definate is that when Earsa speaks, all those in Rinara
listen, if they know what's good for them, or have heard of Earsa.
He is the
best teacher in Rinara, and though he doesn't show his emotions much, the
Rinaryns know he cares about his pupils, and if they keep going and endure
until their training is over, the students of Earsa will most likely
be able to achieve what they dream. If they become warriors, they are some
of the best. The 'warriors of Earsa' as they are called, though they almost
never come back to visit their teacher, can strike fear into their enemies
with their versions of Torquemada's Battle Song. Earsa is legendary. Earsa
to the Rinaryns is like a noble and dignified parent to his children.
