The Kamalti are the Rinaryns' brother race. They inhabit the Holy Mountains of Rinara.
Physiology: Their average height is about 5'6, and they are thin creatures, with pasty white skin that in some places (like their long-fingered hands) is almost transparent. With extremely large eyes and elongated ears, and only two slits for a nose, many people think these beings are hideous. they have no hair, and two small knobs on top of their heads, but that is about all they differ from humans.
Government: The Kamalti put a high priority on staying hidden. They have a Council of elders, much like the Rinaryns, in each of their home caves. Unfortunatley, not much is known about them, for those who go to search them out usually don't come back.
Culture: The Kamalti protect the land of Rinara from outsiders, and make the Holy Mountains even more dangerous than they naturally are. Living in peace with the dragons and the Angels and even the wyverlyns, they have made the Holy Mountains a fortress. Able to disappear in a flash, for they know the mountains like the back of their hand, and able to cause rockslides and the like, they are a very dangerous people to tick off. It is believed, however, that they are actually a very peaceful race, only concerning themselves with the welfare of their sister race, the Rinaryns, and the welfare of the land.
Technology: Nothing is known about the level of technology the Kamalti have avaliable to them.
History: Before the Time of Madness, the Kamalti and the Rinaryns lived together peacefully and friendily. After the Time of Madness set off the Great War, however, the Kamalti hid in the Mountains while the Rinaryns killed each other. They became a reclusive people, watching the Rinaryns, but not interfereing and not showing themselves. The Great War ended, and the Rinaryn people repented of their actions, but the Kamalti never came out of hiding again, for reasons unknown. The Rinaryns have stories of the Kamalti that they tell fondly, a way of remembering the old happiness, but no one can tell if the two races will be reunited ever again.
